The village still has houses of early Ottoman architecture and a traditional village lifestyle. In 1980, the village was taken under state protection, and in 2014 it was included in the UNESCO world cultural heritage list. |
All old buildings, including kanaks, are under state protection since 1980, they can only be restored.

We were told that the streets were narrow for several reasons: because of the saving of fertile land in the highlands, |

On the Princes Islands (Adalar).
Not far from Istanbul in the Sea of Marmara is a small archipelago. In the Turkish manner it is called - Adalar (Islands), but the most popular is the name of the Princes' Islands. This name dates back to the Byzantine times when princes and other successors were often exiled here. The largest island of the Buyukada archipelago is one of the popular holiday destinations for Istanbul residents.
